Wire spreaders are a convenient, easy way of managing the vine canopy of VSP trellising. Wire spreaders can be mounted onto wood posts or a range of steel vineyard posts. Start the growing season with the lower spread in the open position. Once the shoots have grown sufficiently long enough, close and clip the spreaders together to maintain vertical shoots. If applicable, then open the 2nd (top or middle) wire spreader and repeat the process. Wire spreaders are made of heavily galvanized hi-tensile steel wire.
