Vinstake Installations for Upgrading Existing Vineyards

• Slide the Vinstake through existing trellis system and vine
• Drive the Vinstake into the soil with a Vinstake Hand Driver.

Illustration shows typical single wire can pruned vines upgraded to vertical shoot positioning. This can dramatically increase crop and crop quality.

Advantages
This low cost upgrade immediately achieves all the advantages of a new trellis system with valuable existing matured vines on to shoot positioning or raises cane and minimal pruned vines.

The slotted steel Vinstake post extension straddles old established cordon wires stapled on top of the post as it is jack hammered into the post. This allows a further cordon wire to be installed if required and, at the same time, provides multiple foliage wire positions. The intermediate Vinstake is easily driven in to the existing vine row to match the new trellis height and the existing cordon wire and drip wire.

Fixing
Vinstake post extensions are easily forced over the top of steel posts.

• Remove top wires to allow 100 mm plus.
• Drive on Vinstake post extention.
• Clip untied wire into the extensions' wire tags.

Options
Adapts existing trellis system to shoot positioning capability or adds extra cordon wires for cane or minimal pruning where additional trellis heigh is required.

Advantages
Provides all Vinstake wire attachment facility. The simple drive-on extension requires no bolts. Plain (no tab) extensions may be used with holes if shoot position capability is not wanted. Hole punched Ag Bar may also be used for crosspiece for tee or Y shaped trellis for table grapes or dired on vine crops.

Fixing

• Use two 90 mm heavy galvanised TEC screws and a power screw driver with a chuck socket
• Position Vinstake extension so that the second wire tag lines up with the post top.
• The open side of the extension should be against the post to grip the wood post.
• Insert TEC screws into bottom hole and into the solid top section of the wood post.

If using bolts, use the same spacing.

Options
Adapts existing trellis system to shoot positioning capability or adds extra cordon wires for cane or minimal pruning. The extension forms a solid base for complex overhead trellis wire frames for table grape trellis systems.
